Operation Guardian - the Northamptonshire Police initiative targeted on 'serious acquisitive crime' - has been running for a year with the effect of reducing these crimes by about 20%, equivalent to 2500 fewer victims of robbery, burglary and vehicle crime.
Assistant Chief Constable Martin Jelley, the overall commander for Operation Guardian, has issued a massive thank you to the people of Northamptonshire for their tremendous support in contributing to its success, saying, "... we could not have achieved this success without the increasing assistance from members of the public..."
