An Introduction to our new Community Regeneration Officer!
Dear resident, my name is Graham Ward and I am a Community Regeneration officer for Northamptonshire County Council. I have been in post for a very short amount of time; however I am keen to work with partners in the Woodford Halse area, helping to improve services and build community spirit.
Living in a village myself I know that village life has enormous benefits but, at times major drawbacks. For example I know that getting into the nearest town can be a real challenge, getting involved in social activity can be difficult and for those of us young enough to know what an MP4 does life can be boring!
With this in mind, it is my job to work with agencies in the area such as the police, district and parish councils, local residents groups and so on to make Woodford Halse a better place to live, work and play.
In the next few months I will be firstly finding out what activities and key people there are in the area and then looking at what the community want. The community will be invited to offer their opinions, wants and needs at a special consultation event, which will be arranged shortly watch this space for details.
Once people have told me and the other partners what they want we will attempt to deliver these. A wish list it may be, but sometimes dreams really do come true.
