Residents living in Woodford can decide which one of five ideas to improve their village is the best.
The Have Your Vote scheme is based on the results from the Woodford-cum-Membris Parish Plan and puts forward ideas that people have suggested could improve the village.
The ideas range from new sports facilities to more adult education, and votes need to be cast before the deadline on Friday, July 30. The two ideas with the most votes will then go on to a Dragon’s Den-style battle to decide a winner.
When people vote they will have the opportunity to nominate themselves to stand in front of the panel of ‘dragons’ and fight for the idea that they to be developed.
The dragons will then ultimately decide which project wins the cash in an event that will take place on September 2 in the Dryden Hall.
There is over £3,000 worth of funding to be spent on the winning project and the dragons will help people see the idea come to fruition.
The dragons will be representatives from Daventry & District Housing, Daventry District Council, County Councillor Gina Ogden, Woodford-cum-Membris Parish Chair Bernadette Rodgers, and Jeremy Lincoln from the Parish Plan Group.
Funding has been provided by DDC, DDH, Northamptonshire County Council, the Empowering Councillors Fund and the Office of the Third Sector/Grassroots Grants, with the support of Northamptonshire ACRE.
Voting forms have been delivered to every home in the parish and are available to download at http://www.woodford-halse.co.uk/download/2010/Peoples-Choice-Flyer.pdf.
For more details about the project contact Della Butcher at Daventry District Council on 01327 871100.
