As part of the Banbury Flood Alleviation scheme the A361 will be COMPLETELY CLOSED between the Williamscott turn and the turn for Chacombe from 28th March. This is a change from the original date but the Environment Agency still expect to finish by their original end date - 11th July (Thanks Steven Lee for a quick reply to our request for information!)

This work is being carried out by the Environment Agency and more details can be found on their website here (scroll down to "How will local residents be affected?").

Diversions are being put in place but the advice is that journeys will take longer. The Geoff Amos bus services will have to take an alternative route through Cropredy.   There are alternative routes for car drivers via Eydon and on to the B4525 and follow to Banbury, through the Boddingtons and on to the Southam Road but this will be packed with lorries as that is where heavy traffic has been diverted. Alternatives are to go to Wardington and go through the village to the B4525 or to go through Lower Wardington to Upper Wardington and follow signs to Chacombe and then towards Banbury, rejoining the A361.
